Howards Feed and Wax Reviews 5

It looks knda orange-brown in the bottle. Size is 8 oz, no strings etc.

Not wanting to buy clarinet bore oil, or one of those 'sekrit in-geedy-ent' FB-care salves at $10 for 2oz, I was in a True Value Hardware store looking at wood care products. This stuff was only $8 for the 8 oz bottle. When I saw the bottle I then remembered that it was recommended in a thread on the Warwick forum.

It's affordable and easy to apply. It's also good stuff for bass bodies such as Warwicks that are normally treated with expensive, nuisance-to-use beeswax. When I apply it, a bit of it usually winds up on the strings as well [OK maybe I'm a slob ... ] and it seems to make the strings easiers to play. So, it's like 'Fast Fret', Orange Oil, and Beeswax all in one product. Very cool. It's for use on both raw wood, like FBs and oil-finished wood, like Warwick bodies. Warwick says only the clear oil finish needs waxing ... that the colored oil does not. Well ... mebbe colored oil doesn't *need* it, but this stuff enriches the color, and the effect really lasts.

No dislikes. Great product.

It's a mixture of beeswax, carnuba wax, and orange oil. It comes in a polyethylene bottle with a flip open squirt top. You hafta shake it up or else you'll get just oil when you squirt it.

Howards is a well-respected product for fancy woodwork. I confess: some of my basses *are* fancy woodwork. BTW, Howards has their own website for various wood care products. Considering the alternatives, and the prices for them, this product gets a *5* rating. Your FB will love it and you will love your FB :-)
